Lonely Planet - Turkey, Virginia Maxwell

Goreme House offer s levels of service and professionalism previously enheard of in Göreme. The attractively decorated rooms are blissfully comfortable, with great beds tea-and coffee-making facilities and well-equipped bathrooms. Rooms have satelite TVs and a small sitting area. After a day's walking or sightseeing, guests can relax in the shade of a large mulberry tree in the courtyard or on the roof terrace, which has good views. Though everything here is impressive, it's the extras that make this place so great: breakfasts include fresh orange juice and börek (filled pastry) straight from the oven, olive oil soaps are in every bathroom, bottled water is provided at no charge in the rooms and small boutique touches such as a pillow menu have been introduced. Great stuff.

Frommer's - Turkey

This humble little guesthouse was converted from a century-old stately Pasa's mansion. A few of the rooms are cut into the rock, but the majority are the characteristic single-vaulted rooms unadorned except for a kilim and simple handcrafted Turkish linens. Two suites are perked up with the addition of en-suite Jacuzzis.

The hotel is hidden up a side street behind the shopping area and mosque, and when nobody's looking, the stone courtyard entryway seems to attract local children for the relief afforded by the house hose. Two upper terraces, one a glass-enclosed bar and TV room and the other a spectacular open balcony, offer panoramic views of the neighboring fairy chimneys and rock-cut houses, and as in many a family-run establishment, you wind up spending more time with the staff than out exploring.

Highlight of the trip!!”

What an amazing hotel! We spent a few nights at the Goreme House in Cappadocia and were blown away by quality of the accommodations, the kindness and knowledge of the staff, and the region itself. Waking up to delicious breakfast on the rooftop with unbelivable views all around, staying in such a charming, super clean room, and relaxing in the lovely courtyard in the evening really made the Goreme House the ideal base from which to explore Cappadocia.

On top of all that, the hotel staff and management were incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable, offering excellent guided tours throughout the region. Of our two weeks in Turkey, the Goreme House and Cappadocia were definitely the highlight.

UNFORGETTABLE GOREME HOUSE

Words cannot do justice to our stay in Goreme House.... I had read excellent reviews of d property and was expecting it to be good , but this enchanting place surpassed all our expectations & made us fall in love with Cappadocia... Between d five of us friends we had d suite and two deluxe rooms... The rooms were comfortable with nice bathrooms.. Though not very big in size they had all d basic amenities...

The staff : starting from d manager Hallis to d all rounder Kadir, d ever smiling handy man and d beautiful cleaning lady were all very efficient and warm people who made our stay perfect... They planned d perfect sightseeing trips for us and we made d most of our short trip of 3 days... They were always ready to provide us with complimentary bottled water ( even at 1 AM) In european countries its a boon to get unlimited bottled water... Breakfast was very homely and there was a spread of lovely local cheeses and amazing homemade jams along with d standard stuff...

To put it in a nutshell it was d best experience we have had in any hotel and we hope to go there again someday soon... Thanks to Goreme House - Cappadocia became the highlight of our trip to turkey....
